Mulaut Abattoir will starts accepting participations in the upcoming Ibadah Qurban at Pusat Penyembelihan Mulaut commencing FRIDAY 13 NOVEMBER 2009. Participating form can be downloaded through the following links, all files are in .doc format.

A total of 600 heads of cattle and buffaloes and 400 heads of goats will be imported from Darwin Australia and are expected to arrive in Brunei on 8 November 2009. A senior officer from Mulaut Abattoir will be flying off to darwin on the 26th of this month to personally inspect (ensuring) all livestock are complying with qurban specifications as laid out in the Islamic hukum syariah. All livestock will again be reinspected at Mulaut during tagging (identification process) prior putting the animals on sales list.
Selling prices remained as previous Qurban - B$4.50 per kg live weight for cattle and buffaloes and B$350.00 per head for goat. Average value per head B$1,500.00 for steer-cattle and buffaloes and B$2,700.00 for bull-cattle. Slaughtering service is FREE.
All cattle imported are sourced from Brunei owned Willeroo and Opium Creek cattle stations, where the animals are selected from birth and reared for over 2 years especially for Brunei Qurban market. It is an annual joint project between Mulaut Abbattoir and Brunei Meat Export Company, a subsidiary of Jerambak Holding Pty Ltd which manages Brunei's properties in Darwin. While Buffaloes and goats are generally sourced from other suppliers in Darwin, limited numbers of buffaloes come from Opium Creek as well.
